Vice President's Welcome
Welcome to the Melbourne Nordic Ski Club web site. We are a friendly and social club. I would like to extend a warm invitation for you to join us in one of our many cross-country ski activities. Why not come along to one of our club nights or send us an email.
The Club is based in Melbourne, with most members residing in the metro area and many members from other areas. We have family, single and student members.
Members participate in a broad range of ski activities including day trips, ski weekends, ski touring, snow camping, ski orienteering and ski racing. Club activities, including lessons, cater for all levels of skiing experience. We especially welcome first-time skiers.
Our Web site contains further information about our club nights, ski activities and how to contact us. Looking forward to meeting you.

About the club
Melbourne Nordic Ski Club Inc. is a friendly club and welcomes new members. Established in 1978, the Club has grown from a nordic racing club into a club with a broad focus encompassing the whole spectrum of cross country skiing. The Club is built around the activities of its members, who range from novice skiers to elite racers. We participate in a range of cross-country ski activities including trail-skiing, snow-camping and back country skiing, racing and ski orienteering.
Whatever the activity, we promote minimal impact skiing, and care for our alpine environments. And we take snow safety seriously.
We are a non-profit organisation with members of all ages and from all parts of the Melbourne metropolitan area and a few from elsewhere.
The Club tries to keep costs reasonable. Accommodation ranges from tents, huts, holiday units to lodges.

Newsletter
Crosswords is the MNSC newsletter, published monthly from May to September.
Meetings
Club meetings are held monthly from May to September (sometimes October), from 8:00pm usually feature a speaker on skiing or a related topic. They're also a great opportunity to meet people, and get tips and advice on trips and equipment. Meetings usually include a speaker on skiing or a related topic. Topics include Ski equipment, Fitness, Weather and Climate, Member's overseas trips, etc.
It's not just about winter!
Socialising is an important part of Club life. Our members tend to be a pretty sociable bunch. They like to meet and talk skiing back in Melbourne, at the Annual Dinner out on the training trail on their Skikes.
Photo Contest
At our end of season social meeting, we have a photo contest. Members at the meeting get to vote for photos of the season in various categories.
